LDAP bug? Try to turn off avatar sync in LDAP settings.
because we don’t get any information about the updates, I’m thinking about moving from snap to manual installation.
now my question:
is it possible to switch from snap to manual installation just with backup data and restore?
or does snap use a different db-structure so that I can’t restore?
Already try and no activ by default. This not work
In my case I’ve turned off avatar sync and pressed manual resync.
in fact, ldap sync works (with avatar sync off or on). But when users (new sync, but even old one) want to connect, their account isn’t find.
I need to reset password, and they can connect.
this appear since we download new desktop client … but even via the web broser (so new desktop client not in cause).
But … why new version aren’t available under snap package … the last one is the 3.6.2 !
2 months since last snap update … 2 months and 2 major updates !
and no answer from the devs
Yeah, it would be nice if they could answer back us folks. I’d like to know too… I don’t understand the silence from the devs.
Kind regards

4 months later after I created this thread; still no update for snaps… Now it is the 6th of January 2021…
What is going on here Rocket Chat developers? @aaron.ogle
Please advise.
Kind regards
@DreamQuest there for sure have been updates on the snap. If you aren’t getting updates you must be using raspberry pi / another arm device or have disabled updates.
What OS and hardware? What version are you stuck on?
Thanks for the reply @aaron.ogle
We’re running our own VPS server with Ubuntu 20.04 x64.
Kind regards
Hello all!
@aaron.ogle
We using Ubuntu 16.04.6 LSB and snap 2.48.2
All updates installed successfully, but in snap 2.48.2 - only 2.4.14 version available
Do you have any news about update releases in snap?
Ohhh, i understand now. There was no updates at this time
Indeed
No updates so far and the silence from the devs out the subject is strange…
if you only get 2.x updates be sure to see Introducing SNAP Tracks!
I’m still on version 3.18 & I get the same message "snap ‘rocketchat-server’ has no updates available when trying to manually update with ‘sudo snap refresh rocketchat-server’.
Not running on ARM machine, running Ubuntu 20.04. What’s the possible issues?
Hi, I’m having the same issue however I’m using the Raspberry Pi (Raspian Buster). I see in the comments above that could be my issue. Is there an issue updating Rocket.Chat using snap on Raspberry Pi? I’ve looked for a solution and I am not seeing one. Thanks.
I removed the whole installation of Rocketchat including the snapd and did an entire re-installation.
