Keep having to delete General channel

Hello, I keep having to delete the General channel.

For example, I delete it in Rooms in admin settings. I expect no one is going to be able to see this channel any longer.

However, I still get people automatically joining the General channel from time to time even after I’ve deleted it.

I want to remove it permanently. Is this possible or am I experiencing a bug?

There is a bug/feature request on this in github already.

Hello

It’s not possible to delete it, if the “general” room does not exist, it will be recreated at the beginning.

I did the following:

  • Change the room to private.
  • Disable the “default” option.

This way new users are not added to the room and cannot search for it as it is a private room.
