Install Jitsi to Air-Gapped Starter Workspace

Hey,
we need the jitsi meet app for our airgapped starter rocketchat.

If this is not possible we will never have a proof of concept.

How do I get/download the app?

Thanks

Server details

If you are on 7+ this doc tells you what to do.

request the app from the support team via your registered contact

You need to speak to support I believe.

sorry - I added the infos in my initial post.

If you are on 7+ this doc tells you what to do.

Not sure what 7+ means. But the support refuses to answer at all, even if I use the contact the workspace licinsing to “starter” has done and the docs say I should contact the support (just as you say).

Is there no other way to get the addon besides the Marketplace?

Version 7+

You are on 7.2.1

If you are air gapped you have got a licence correct?

But the support refuses to answer at all

If you are air gapped there is IIRC but it will need to come from support.

I’ll try and flag some attention.

7+ … now I got it

Yes the air-gapped licensing process worked as documented.

Thanks already for the help so far.

Hi @AndreasBv I’ve just asked the docs team to update our documentation.

As a Starter Plan user, you can download the Jitsi app in our GitHub repository and manually install the app to your air-gapped workspace.

Hi @milton.rucks,
thanks for the help - I think I’m getting closer.

I can see this release:
Release 2.1.0: feat: basic support for 8x8 jaas (#32) · RocketChat/Apps.Jitsi
But this ends with an error while installing. Is this version not for the rocketchat 7.x?
Apps_Error_App already has an associated runtime

Does this mean that I have to build the Jitsi app myself? Or is the needed zipfile somewhere available?

Builing it locally would create further efforts…

The docs do say:

Install the app via the Rocket.Chat Marketplace or download the source code and build the app by yourself. You would need the Rpcket.Chat App Engine CLI to do so.

I think you have to build locally - because you are airgapped and have no access to the marketplace.

You can’t have it both ways.

Does this mean the build from the GitHub Project Release is broken?
If I use the same code and build it locally I should come up with the same - broken - result.

Not sure as never done it.

Think you get the prebuilt binary here

htt

Think you can install the prebuilt as a private app.

2.1.1 is latest.

If it doesn’t, test the manual method & post back here.

Thanks for your help. I tested the released 2.1.1 zip from the github project - same result

Apps_Error_App already has an associated runtime

I can not understand this error message. But I don’t think building it myself would help here.

I will ask. However, it would be helpful to run the manual method to test it.

Please note the following if you search for your error on github.

So first thing is check you licence is correctly installed and no issues in your logs.

Next is a manual install as per 33140 with debugging.

If that is still an issue I will try and get someone to take a look.

Thanks for your help - there is no issue with the licence.
The issues you linked to had the same problem with an manual installation … and their topics are still open.

Do you have any clue what Apps_Error_App already has an associated runtime might say?

Because…?

Because they were probably solved by getting the licencing correct. It’s quite fussy.

The last post here was marked Solved for this reason.

I also said please check a manual install to test & eliminate please. Are your logs in debug mode? What do/they tell you (don’t post long ones here - use pastebin or similar)?

That should tell us more. The error is likely deno related but need more info.

We need some logs and hard facts.
