Cannot add users to channels/groups anymore

Description

In any channel/group, under “Members” → “Add Users”, it will not offer me any recent users to add. When I start entering something in the field, it will only filter from exactly 10 random, old, users on the system (of a total of ~4800 users)

I noticed this behavior since upgrade to 4.5.0.
