Hey there, I’m running 8.2 within a docker compose setup. I have set up keycloak via OIDC (no premium features) as my main and only source of identities. Recently newly logged in users are not joined into the default channels (e.g. general) any more. I validated that the channel (#general) has the default flag. I don’t see any errors in any log file.
I have already increased the log level to max in the server settings
I’ve created a new default channel #general2 which changes nothing
read through lot’s of old pre 2022 issues
I’ve no idea where to look anymore. Any help is kindly appreciated.
So with 24 users you will be on Starter. I think it is Starter up to 50 users. Check Administration/Workspace (unless you purposefully downgraded?)
For lots of good reasons (mainly awful QA) I would never recommend using or upgrading to a .0 release) unless you are developing.
Every release (ie. 8.0 to 8.1 to 8.2) means you are a guinea pig that finds bugs I’m afraid. I recommend waiting until at least a x.x.1 release for some stability.
So, did it ever work correctly?
If it worked on a prior version and you just updated from 8.1.x to 8.2.0 then you may have hit a bug.
If you have only set it up on 8.2 then you have either got a setup issue (highly likely) or there is a bug in 8.2
I think there were some minor changes recently to default channels etc but I don’t remember which version (and I am now sticking to LTS to avoid all the borkage with releases so read less these days) - you need to have a good read in the changelogs/release notes.
GO back and check the docs and remember, they are giude, not definitive.
A last thought - if you are actually on CE and you voluntarily downgraded, you may lose some functionality. Please check this.
