My issue may be very simple. We are new to rocket chat and loving it’s features. Quick question however,
if a user is @ mentioned will they get an email alert if we have set up smtp for email setting? if so is there an additional step to do so?
User accounts can set that as a preference in the Notifications section. The choices are “Every Mention/DM” and “Disabled”.
This is assuming that the admin setting in the Accounts section has “Allow Email Notifications” enabled. If you want to force it, you should be able to set the default notification preference (Administration -> Account: Default preferences) and then turn off the permission to change it.
