My name is Akshat Sharma, and I’m a full-stack developer from India, currently preparing for GSoC 2026. I’ve been working primarily with React, Next.js, and Django REST Framework, NodeJS, C++/Python and I’m very interested in contributing to Rocket.Chat. I had already contributed in open source for GSSoC and Hacktoberfest.
I really like the scale and real-world impact of Rocket.Chat, especially how it solves communication problems for organizations with full control and flexibility. I’d love to start by contributing to the project, fixing issues, and understanding the codebase before preparing a proper proposal.
I’d appreciate it if you could guide me towards beginner-friendly issues or areas where new contributors can add value.
