Final Update on Registration Requirement to Utilize Push Gateway

@aaron.ogle I have also sponsored few days back , but due to no-interlinking of github account, my account does not reflect the upgrade. I ahve been creating support tickets from last few days, but no response. from last 5 days my team is not getting pushes on mobile, though i am sponsor as shown on github. The most annoying part is no one is responding to my tickets. Can anyone help me here?

Has there been any movement on the configurability front? If I saw correctly there were no new features related to this in 3.9 and 3.10.

Weā€™re very close to leaving the Rocket.Chat ecosystem due to the whole Push Notification issue; itā€™s truly a dealbreaker to an otherwise fine software.

RC continues to kill off its own customer base. The most blatant example of mismanagement and corporate bait & switch I have seen since LogMeIn.

Iā€™m not sure whats happening in the support queue. Also not sure what you mean by no-interlinking? https://sponsorship.rocket.chat is where you go to link benefit to your Rocket.Chat account. Accepts github login checks benefit and then lets you login to cloud and chose the workspace to link it to.

Only caveat is github orgsā€¦ If you sponsored with an org weā€™re still trying to figure out how to make this work seamlessly.

I submitted a ticket a month or so ago about our push notifications ceasing to work on our workspace. I never received help for this issue, so I decided to create a new workspace, cancel my current github sponsorship, re-sponsor, and attach the 20k push limit benefit to the new workspace.

After creating the new workspace, and redoing the sponsorship, I clicked on the link here: https://sponsorship.rocket.chat/ to attach my new sponsorship to my new workspace. It said it was already linked to my workspaceā€¦ I realized that I had two workspaces in the cloud (the old one and the newly created one) and it likely attached to the old one (though I checked both and neither had 20k push/mo.). I then deleted the old one, but when clicking the link now, it displays an error ID (probably something to do with trying to reference a workspace that no longer existsā€¦).

Can someone on your end manually switch the workspace the sponsorship is associated with so as to properly link the two? Or is there a way for me to do this correctly?

Iā€™m already starting to think about switching back to free Slack, and then to some other one element_io, no kidding. Yes, I will incur some losses, but for that I will be fully confident in the transparency of the terms of use. I would not like to do this, because my colleagues and I really liked the convenience of working with Rocket.Chat

It has been two weeks and I have received no help!! I have submitted a ticket and there has been no response for the last two weeks. I am beginning to wonder if I will ever get support in this systemā€¦ Can someone please help me??

Same problem here. We have donated via a GitHub organisation and cannot link it via: https://sponsorship.rocket.chat/
No response on the support ticket so far.
@aaron.ogle Can you please fix the organisation sponsoring.

thank you

Hey,

is there any update on the configurability of Push Notifications? Can we limit it to certain channels by now? Or to certain people?
Any news on a different push delivery mechanism, at least e.g. pull-notifications on android?

@aaron.ogle I am again struck in same boat. I have got some billing issues at my end, but I paid sponsorship amount & updated my card details since many days & raised ticket to update my push limit. But none is responding to my ticket even after 3 days. Please help my team get mobile pushes

Please let us know if you have anyone working on tickets. I believe I seriously need to start thinking moving to slack if I get zero support even after paying the sponsorship for mobile pushes. Is anyone out here or at resolving tickets? @sing.li @aaron.ogle @gabriel.engel Please look into the matter

I believe someone actually has your case in support. It looks like github might not be properly alerting us of the subscription starting back. Please follow up there on the ticket though we might have to involve github to resolve.

Thanks,

Just to shed some light on things here. When you submit a ticket to our ticket system it compares the email used against customer records to put in the SLA tier paid for. The problem here is when emailing support and the only interaction we have is just on github. Github doesnā€™t give us an email address so those are put in a general queue with no guaranteed SLA. But I know they are doing their best there to get to every ticket.

If you do have an open ticket with an issue here please send me your github username used to sponsor and description of problem to my DM and iā€™ll try to help out as much as possible.

(Please donā€™t DM for other random things itā€™ll ruin it for everyone. Thanks  )

I made 3 ticket for a problem (#27770) with that matter,1 Month later 0 replays from you guys. I tryed to reach you but still no feedback. Hard to get in touch with someone. I mean sure if there is no money involved this is fine but the system should atleast work somehow if you pay something via github. So still waiting for someone to look into the problem on our account. I mean i have 1 week without push even with the github sponsorship cause its not updating the amount of pushmails. woud really apriciate if you update your customer experience with that matter.

If you send me the ticket number in DM I can dig into where it is.

But easiest is probably shoot me the GitHub org you used. Or if done as a user send that to me. And I can help fix.

Regarding the bug with GitHub orgs. This should now be fixed. Any new org that sponsors the person that triggered that should then be able to login and link to the workspace.

@aaron.ogle we signed up for sponsoring yesterday (also created a ticket #28122) but it was confusing (though eventually logical) that I had to use my personal account to get the org working. You guys can close #28122.

@DCA-Team-IT apparently it works (for us) now, just going to https://sponsorship.rocket.chat/ and authorising bumped me to 20k

Agreed. GitHub I think needs to make it possible to authorize a bit better on behalf of an org since so easily can sponsor on behalf of one.

But we made a change that captures who triggered the event on behalf the org. So now we will let you login and redeem benefits on behalf the org. Bad part is only the person that triggered it will be able to redeem benefits. So not a perfect workaround

Hey,

Iā€™m looking at the changelog for 3.13 RC0 right now, and it seems like there are no changes in regards to configurability of push notifications - again.

Have I been missing something or have there actually been no improvements to the configurability of push notifications since almost half a year?

As an admin,

  • Iā€™m still not able to allow or disallow push notifications for certain channels
  • Iā€™m still not able to exclude or include certain users (especially for the bot scenario)
  • the combination of the above
  • Iā€™m not able to only send notifications on mentions etc.

Please correct me if Iā€™m wrong there?! All I can find is ā€œMax Room Members Before Disabling All Message Notificationsā€.

A messenger that stops sending push notifications a few days into the month is a dead messenger to the team.
Weā€™re in no position whatsoever to pay per user (non-profit with lots of semi-active users), and none of your sponsoring plans fit for us.

@aaron.ogle Hi, we also tried to reach you via the support portal since January 2021. We use our GH organization account for sponsoring but still canā€™t get the benefits to work. No Sponsorship with Benefits Found. Any help would be much appreciated.

We can relate to this so much.
Itā€™s not that we werenā€™t willing to pay a certain amount to get unlimited push notifications but the enterprise version is simply WAY too much over our budget (especially since unlimited push notification is the only feature we really need out of that).

Weā€™re considering building our own app with our API keys from Google / Apple but this is such a hassle and we sadly have no experience with that.
