Does Rocket Chat use Flash?

Hi all,

New to Rocket Chat. Just wanted to know if the web browser version of Rocket Chat uses Flash. If not, what does it run on?

Why would you assume that? The answer is: no. Rocket.Chat does only uses pure HTML+JS. The server itself is written in nodejs.

Thanks for the great question.

I’m happy to say that there is no flash in Rocket.Chat at all. The platform is built using Meteor JS. You can find out more about it here https://www.meteor.com.

Meteor is an open source platform for web, mobile, and desktop.thats very flexible and widely adopted. (It’s what most of Slack is written in too!)

If you search around on the web there’s quite a few food tutorials on building your own basic chat system with it if you are looking for a deeper understanding of how it all works together.
