Direct Reply - IMAP - not picking up mail

Description

I can’t seem to get the ‘Direct Reply’ feature to work. Does anybody use this? Any thoughts on what I’m doing wrong?

I’m using a gmail account with an app password connecting via IMAP.

Server logs show connection and detection of messages for the gmail account.

No messages posted into the chat channel and no messages deleted on the gmail account so it’s like the server isn’t choosing to read the messages.
