I’m having trouble creating and assigning user roles and permissions. I can’t seem to be able to create a “working” role.
I want a user role called “student” that isn’t allowed to create public channels. So I go to Administration > Permissions > Create Role > Global scope.
After this, in order to test my new role, I copied exactly the same permissions from the “user” role into my new “student” role. I would think that any user assigned this new role would behave exactly as the user role since it has exactly the same permissions. Well, think again. For some reason the users inside my “student” role cannot create direct messages, teams nor discussions. They don’t even see the “Create new” button.
Am I missing something? Has anyone else experienced this before?
Thanks!
