Administering with Oauth account

Description

We have a passwordless environment, meaning that all users log in using Oauth2. That includes admins. Password-based login to Rocket chat (as well as to all our other systems) is completely disabled.

Our admin user cannot save any edits done in Administration dialogs, although the account says its admin. I assume this has something to do with the federated login?

Is there any way to configure this to work, or would this be a new feature?

Server Setup Information

  • Version of Rocket.Chat Server: 3.15.0
  • Operating System: Ubuntu
  • Deployment Method: docker
  • Number of Running Instances: 1

Please test on the latest version - so at least 3.17.x please

I’d also check the user permissions just case you have missed something. And check the logs when this occurs to see if there are any errors.

Using the latest version of rocket chat 6.4.x, we still have this issue?

@henris42 Did you find a solution?

@john.crisp It simply requests a password upon pressing save. There is no password on any of our accounts, due to OAuth.
