Rocketchat Version supported date revert back to the date before upgrade

Description

Hi Everyone,

I recently upgraded Rocket.Chat from version 6.6.3 to 6.11.0-rc.6. After the upgrade, I checked the workspace information, and everything seemed fine. However, after a few days, I noticed that the version supported date reverted back to the date before the upgrade.

Is this a known bug, or can I ignore it? Also, after September 16th, will I still be able to use Rocket.Chat with the desktop software?

I am using the community plan with a self-hosted server.

Server Setup Information

  • Version of Rocket.Chat Server: Version 6.11.0-rc.6
  • Operating System: CentOS7.9
  • Deployment Method: tar
  • Number of Running Instances: 1
  • DB Replicaset Oplog: rs01
  • NodeJS Version: v14.21.3
  • MongoDB Version: 5.0.23
  • Proxy: nginx - reverseproxy
  • Firewalls involved: -

Any additional Information

Why would you upgrade to a release candidate?

They are for testing only.

At least upgrade to 6.11.1 which is latest stable.

Only ever use RCs for testing - they will almost always have lots of broken bits and are not fit for production.

You will also help yourself if you upgrade incrementally eg 6.6 - 6.6 - 6.8 etc with backups and testing at each stage.

Some thought here.

Hi Reept,

Thanks for the heads-up! I’m not very familiar with version release candidates, so I appreciate the information. I’ll make sure to upgrade to stable release versions in the future. Since our users rely on the system 24x7, we rarely perform upgrades, but I’ll be more cautious and plan accordingly next time.

Thanks again!
