Rocket.Chat Roadmap Reveal: The Secure CommsOS™ Edition

Hi everyone!

Nearly 10 years ago, Rocket.Chat launched as an open source alternative to Slack.

Today, it has evolved into a fully-fledged collaboration platform, supporting the needs of mission critical organizations around the world.

When every second matters, you need a collaboration platform that’s up to the task. The Secure CommsOS integrates messaging, voice, video, AI, and mission-critical apps to keep teams connected and missions protected.

Join Rocket.Chat’s CEO, Gabriel Engel, and CPO, Chris Skelly, as they expand on the vision for The Secure CommsOS and what’s next for Rocket.Chat.

Can’t make it as I have a prior engagement.

But please explain why “OS”?

That intimates its an operating system, which it most definitely is not. Makes no sense.

Also why are you not pushing where the market is at?

AI (whether you believe in it or not) has to be the way.

“Secure AI powered Omnichannel” makes much more sense.

That’s what people (have been told they) want. More AI.

Surely sales must be banging on about this?

Maybe I’ve missed something but this feels very 2020, not 2025. Trying to cater to existing markets - squeezing that extra few percent - rather than pro-actively getting ahead in new ones where it’s open field right now.

My 2c worth.
