Olá,
I have a VM running Rocket.Chat version 8.1.8, which is currently working normally. As I understand it, this version will only be supported until the end of August.
I tried upgrading to version 8.2.8, but after the upgrade, the messages were not displayed correctly. I also tried upgrading to more recent versions, but the problem continued. When I downgraded back to 8.1.8, everything started working normally again.
I would like to clarify a few questions:
- After the end of August, if I continue using Rocket.Chat 8.1.8, will it continue to work normally, or could I lose access to the system because I am using an unsupported version?
- What exactly happens when a Rocket.Chat version reaches its end of support? Does the system continue working without updates and security fixes, or are there any limitations that could prevent access?
- I am currently running Rocket.Chat through Docker, with MongoDB upgraded to version 8. Is this combination officially supported by the latest Rocket.Chat versions?
- Is there a recommended procedure for upgrading from Rocket.Chat 8.1.8 to a newer version without losing or being unable to view the existing messages?
- Could the problem I experienced when upgrading to version 8.2.8, where the messages were not displayed, be related to the MongoDB version, the database migration process, or a specific change between these versions?
I would like to know the safest procedure for performing this upgrade while preserving all existing message history and data.
Thank you.
