I was wondering if someone could shed some light on the question i have, currently was using openfire and want to make the switch. But before so i need to know if rocket.chat has a system to monitor chats for HR when they ask for chat messages.

There is no easy way to do searches in Rocket Chat. They have built that ability into the PAID Enterprise version only, despite MANY users, including myself, asking that it be a standard part of the package.
There are ways to get the info from the MariaDB, but it requires scripting of some sort, and a way to look at the files. Its a real PITA.
We are currently evaluating other options because of this. We may just end up using MS Teams, as we get it as part of O365.
