Hide users from "@" command

Hello

one can unset the privilege to see the user list in directory view. I’d like to make use of this effectively, but it caught my eyes that one is still able to fetch the user’s list via the @ command. Is this intended for any reason? If yes I don’t understand the purpose of why one is able to hide the user directory.

Best regards

additional info:
I set all channels to type “broadcast” so people can’t see the channel user list, either. Although I’d love to see the ability to hide the channel’s user list without making it to a broadcast channel.
