so it seems that five years after announcing that you’re using Matrix to federate, using Matrix is going to be deprecated (cf. Matrix Bridge Configuration).
Question: will the ability to bridge to Matrix be affected by this change?
No idea.

This is a good reference related to the move on Matrix → Announcing Rocket.Chat’s Native Federation Solution | Rocket.Chat
In a nutshell, the current work from our Engineering team is to have Native Federation into the Rocket.Chat platform (prevent the need from having to bring along your own brand new homeserver and set it up along side setting up Rocket.Chat). So it’s not going away, just changing a bit the how it’s done.
