Export and Import Messages again

We have a user that was created a long time ago. Now he should get a normal domain user. To do this we have to delete his old user. Before that, I would like to export his messages and then import them into the new user. RocketChat offers an export function, but I can’t find a way to import this JSON or HTML file again. I’m not familiar with MongoDB, so I don’t want to get into it.

First, upgrade. You should be tracking releases regularly and your has a security hole that you should get fixed.

Also not your version is supported for 6 months from release and 6.12 has just come out (don’t upgrade to it though - 6.11.2 would be better) so you don’t have long before support ends.

I’m not sure that is easy to do.

That is designed for GDPR for a user to export their data, but not for import.

I think you might be better updating the users details in the Mongo DB but as you have provided almost zero server info it is difficult to help you.
