Desperate for some IRC bridge help

Description

I really need some help setting up the IRC federation bridge for my rocket.chat instance. I have all of the information plugged in, but I don’t know what local and peer password it’s talking about. The IRC server I want to connect to does not have a password. It has channels within that do have passwords, but there’s nowhere in this IRC section about channels or mapping or anything like that. I could really use any help bridging IRC to rocket.chat even if its just one way.

Server Setup Information

  • Version of Rocket.Chat Server: 3.0.4
  • Operating System: Ubuntu 18.04
  • Deployment Method: docker
  • Number of Running Instances:
  • DB Replicaset Oplog:
  • NodeJS Version: v12.14.0
  • MongoDB Version: 4.0.17
  • Proxy: nginx
  • Firewalls involved: iufw

Me too on this one - The documentation on the IRC bridging is pretty sparse - something about how to map a rocket.chat channel to an IRC channel would be good.

It’s deprecated/not supported as far as I remember.

Asking on years old posts won’t help you.

As per docs page:

IRC Federation is in beta. Use on a production system is not recommended at this time.
