Toggling left side menu in iFrame not working

I’ve embedded RC within an iFrame and am unable to toggle the left hand sidemenu.
Here are the images showing unclicked and clicked menu icon on top left:

Any idea what’s up?

It’s because I had added ?layout=embedded at the end of the iFrame src
