:speech_balloon: Community Post Query: Hiding Message Composer Buttons in RC 7.10.0 via Custom CSS

Hello everyone,

I’m running a Community Self-Hosted instance of Rocket.Chat version 7.10.0.

I’m looking to simplify the UI by removing most of the buttons in the message composer toolbar, as highlighted in the attached image:

[Please upload the image (Annotation 2025-10-29 111851.png) when posting]

I specifically need the Custom CSS snippets (to be applied in Administration > Layout > Custom CSS) to hide the following sets of icons:

  1. Emoji (Smiley Face)
  2. All Formatting Buttons (B, I, S, Link, Code/Code Block)
  3. The Attachment/Media Plus Icon (+ which opens to Files, Mic, Video, etc.)

For instance, the Emoji button often uses an icon name selector, but the formatting group (B, I, S, etc.) is harder to target individually without affecting other buttons.

Could someone please provide the most stable Custom CSS selectors for Rocket.Chat v7.10.0 to hide these elements?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can you provide the link to embedded documentation that you were referring to?

Have you tried searching?

Please, do a bit of work yourself.

Of course I did searched but the embedded chat has only few lines of documentation,
Rocket Chat Embedded Layout Guide ? If you can, help me by doing the needful .

You can use embedded layout and/or iframes as per the docs.

As I said, you need to do some work for yourself rather than just saying “write it all for me”.

Bad: “I’m stuck - write a solution for me”

Good: “ I did X and I did Y and I did wrote this code but it broke with this error”

No one is going to spend hours writing it all for you, for nothing. That is not the way it works.

I have already told you that here as well:
