Private DM with bot to receive new mail notification

Description

I receive several mail notifications from many tools, like jira, jenkins, etc. But we may change to use webmail (intead of outlook client). Of course I could add a browser extension to pop up when new mail arrives, but I would like to know if an idea would be possible:

Create a private DM with a bot (I could call this bot as MailBot for example).
I need to program the bot to check my pop server every hour.
If there is a new mail, so bot could post a message at DM channel.
Rocket Chat will popup a notification in the desktop.

should be possible to do it?
is there something similar in the marktplace ?
