# Push Notification Failures on v8.7.1

Greetings

I’m having trouble on my new rocket.chat instance. I’ve registered my workspace and it has a starter plan registration. I’ve gone through the documentation that I can find related to push notifications. I have confirmed that I have accepted the Cloud Service Privacy Terms Agreement on my instance.

I have confirmed that my push notification settings and gateway appear to be correct as follows:

Enable: on  
Enable gateway: on  
Gateway: [https://gateway.rocket.chat](https://gateway.rocket.chat)  
Production: on

At this point everything seems to work EXCEPT for push notifications. I have tested it in admin to no avail. I see in the logs that it claims to send the notification to 1 android device and 0 ios devices, but nothing ever seems to arrive.

I’m new to Rocket.Chat, so I absolutely accept that I could be missing something, but I have no idea where to look. Does anyone know what I might look into next? I would really strongly prefer push notifications working.

- Version of Rocket.Chat Server: 8.7.1
- Operating System: Ubuntu 24.04
- Deployment Method: Docker
- Number of Running Instances: 1

Note to anyone else experiencing this, here’s how I got PNs working:

In Admin \> Settings \> Push:  
Toggle off gateway  
save

In Admin \> Settings \> General:  
restart the server

In Admin \> Settings \> Push:  
Toggle on gateway  
save

In Admin \> Settings \> General:  
restart the server

In the mobile app, clear the app’s storage, then open it and log in again  
After logging in, close or background the app  
Message your user from a different user to test PNs. At this point mine began working.
