# Looks like two instances of rocketchat snap is instaleld, cant upgrade my running instance to newer version

Hi community!  
for some reason i have a strange issue, i am one of the lucky users who are getting Update required message in mobile app saying that my workspace will be cutoff in 4 days…

after running snap refresh the console did the upgrade and reported that everything is oki doki but the message didnt dissappear and looking up the deployment info in my account i was surprised to see that my version remained 6.2.8

i am ubuntu noob, thats why i took snap deployment  
after some digging around i find out that i have 2 snap folders  
one is \snap\ in the root of the drive  
and the other \var\snap …  
is it supposed to be 2 folders or my instance is messed up ?

the bad stuff is if i try to make a backup of the instance to save the deployment data and messages i get a file less than 80kb, that cant be right, … right ? assuming that i have :

Messages 96303  
Threads 452  
Messages in Channels 641  
Messages in Private Groups 9461  
Messages in Direct Messages 86201  
Messages in Omnichannel 0  
and 9GB uploads …  
its important to try and sava the data  
then i can kill the snap and install a new one to restore the db to…

- Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
- Deployment Method: snap
- Number of Running Instances: 2?
- DB Replicaset Oplog:
- NodeJS Version: 14.21.3
- MongoDB Version: 5.0.18 / wiredTiger (oplog Enabled)
- Proxy: caddy
- Firewalls involved:true

Anyone with the idead what to do ?  
still stuck  
workspace is cutoff …  
ubuntu terminal says im on 6.5.1 version  
rocketchat client says i am on 6.2.8 version

it is a mess
