# How to update Rocketchat?

I was reading docs it says refresh snap to update Rocket chat. as i used snap to install i wanted to know how to refresh it?

I guess the [Rocket-Chat Documentation](https://rocket.chat/docs/installation/manual-installation/ubuntu/snaps/) is pretty clear about that:
> Snaps are one of our biggest install base. **They are also auto updating**. As a result we like to spend more time testing before releasing. Updated Snaps are usually released around the 15th of the month - around 2 weeks after a new release. This gives us time to look for issues so you don’t have to.
> If you have special requirements and really need to use the latest release immediately then please consider another installation method e.g docker

Hi, don’t wont to open a new topic. I’m interested in update version 2.4.11 (1427) to latest stable 3.x. snap refresh doesn’t do that. Is it possible to update snap from 2.4 to 3.x?

I’m a bit confused about why my snap install wont update from 3.2.2. Is this to be expected? Seems that version is over 30 days old.

Still no update, approaching 2 months without an update. Anyone know when the snap version will finally be bumped up? I am thinking it’s time i move off snap.
