# Can't upgrade to 7 from 6

Most likely.

Please list the commands you executed so we can see.

What version are you tracking? Your screenshot shows 6.x ??

What does it say in the docs about major updates?

The bit I highlighted above:

I has change to 7 use follow command:

snap switch rocketchat-server --channel=7.x/stable

And use snap refresh rocketchat-server this command to upgrade it.

It’s will show error message:

root@rocketmeet:~# snap refresh rocketchat-server  
2024-12-14T16:39:20+08:00 INFO Waiting for “snap.rocketchat-server.rocketchat-mongo.service” to stop.  
2024-12-14T16:39:31+08:00 INFO Waiting for “snap.rocketchat-server.rocketchat-caddy.service” to stop.

You are make a lot of unnecessary work for people. I don’t get paid to do this. You are using CE and have community support, not paid support.

Nope. Your presume is wrong.  
If you look at the log files a little more carefully, you will see that your assumption is wrong, because these are two different instances.In github post is mine. Me and @akong77 are completely different people with the same problem. Just simple like that.  
There is no need for aggression in expression.

Hello,  
just want to add, we have the same issue in our Environment.  
Current version: 6.13.0  
Trying to upgrade to 7.x  
The new Version got downloaded, but the installation stops with the already mentioned error message:

```auto
Start snap "rocketchat-server" (1633) services (systemctl command [start snap.rocketchat-server.rocketchat-mongo.service] failed with exit status 1: stderr:
Job for snap.rocketchat-server.rocketchat-mongo.service failed because the control process exited with error code.

```

I am also seeing the issue when trying to update from 6.13 to 7.x
