# Cannot Upload FIles in Messages

Hi, we have enabled file upload with direct messages in the admin console. However, when I send a file it goes to the channel, but not the team member. We also noticed that the ability to attach a file greys out as soon as we enter text in the chat box. Any ideas?

Plesse don’t open multiple issues at once.

Fix one thing at a time.

Your related issue here. The cause is likely to be the same.

(Note you should NOT use GridFS for storage in production)
